Hello, friends!  Welcome and thanks for visiting!

About Me:

My name is Danah and I am a rehabilitated/retired chemical engineer with a double masters in Teaching Secondary Education and in English Literature at Salem State University. I am teach 9th and 10th grade English at Lexington Christian Academy. My great scholarly loves are multimodal and digital literacies, rhetoric and composition, and non-canonical authors and their works.

I consider myself to be a teacher-scholar; my pedagogy and my scholarship hold equal weight in my life and inform one another constantly. One of my primary goals is to be developing and growing constantly in both of these areas.

About My Blog:

For me, holding myself accountable to my goal of consistent personal growth means being conscious and intentional about the ways that I effect change as a scholar and as an educator and the ways in which change is affected in me in my pursuit of these roles. I would like this blog to reflect, chronicle, and share the ways these callings seep into the different aspects of my academic, professional, and personal life. This blog is both a record and a resource, as well as a way to include the people in my life as part of my journey.

I have organized my posts into 3 main categories: academics, my classroom, and personal. My academic blog posts house content from my current and ongoing scholarship or research. Posts appearing in my classroom category include direct and tangible resources for or products from my personal classroom experience. My personal blog posts chronicle my own journey and experiences as I grow into my roles as an educator and a scholar. Many of my posts cannot be categorized into just one of these categories and so they appear in more than one. If you are more interested in the posts than the categories they fall into, my full lineup of posts can be read in chronological order by clicking all posts.
